On Tuesday April 2, 2019 my class and I went and visited Bishop Collective on 143 Ludlow Street New York, NY 10002. There, our professor Mai showed us all around her store that had opened just last summer. She explained the meaning behind the name- bishop coming from the bishop chess piece and how that piece can go anywhere. All her designers are made in the US and it is all ethically and sustainably made garments and accessories. She even mentioned that she sells the jewelry brand of one of her previous students which I thought was really neat. The clothing there was a mix of vintage and classic pieces that all had their own twist to them. Loved hearing about her company and getting that experience.
