Fashion Institute of Technology Museum

On Tuesday, March 12. 2019, my class and I toured the Fashion Institute of Technology Fashion Museum on Seventh Avenue and 27th Street. We were given a private tour of “Exhibitionism: 50 Years of The Museum at FIT”. The collection showcased garments that were significant to fashion history. The lady that gave us the tour was extremely informational and knew the collection very well. Personally, I thought the museum was quite small. The exhibition that we saw consisted of give or take 15 garments and I thought it didn’t have a lot to offer. The museum itself was bigger, but those pieces are displayed constantly. I enjoyed our time there, but this wouldn’t be one of my top study tour destinations.
