Coterie

On Wednesday, February 27th, 2019, I visited Coterie. Coterie is where buyers meet with sales reps and review the collection to place orders. I walked around to different stores and talked with a couple of the sales representatives. My favorite booth to walk into was “Save the Duck”. This booth had rubber duck heads on the mannequins and a giant plastered duck on a pedestal. It was a very interesting way to grab the attention of people walking by. I also got the opportunity to speak with the sales rep and she described the process of creating the outerwear jackets. They use a synthetic fiber called plumtech. It’s a more sustainable way than using Canadian goose. I also stopped by my roommates store, “Roller Rabbit” and got to see their collection as well as talk with her and her coworkers. I much preferred going to Coterie than to Texworld. I found Coterie to be more enjoyable just because I was looking at actual garments and could listen to how they were made, where they were made, etc. Plus, I felt like I was shopping so that was fun. We also got to see a few teepees that had beautiful displays in them. I attached pictures of them!
